Hollow foot (Pes Cavus)
Usually a congenital deformity, the middle of the foot barely touches the ground or does not touch it at all. Because of this the weight of the body is borne by the heel and front of the foot. Bunions and hammer toe can be associated with it. It can only really be detected with the computerised sole examination.
Symptoms
a. Excessive pressure and consequent calluses under the heads of the first to fourth metatarsals.
b. Pain and sensitivity in the area of the transversal arch.
c. Frequent ankle injury due to the instability of the foot.
