Morton's neuroma
Not an uncommon syndrome, which essentially is inflammation of the nerves going to the toes. Usually it occurs at the junction of nerves so often there is pain and numbness in the sides of two toes facing each other. Frequently chronic trauma, dropped arches, etc. may be the cause.
Treatment
First it is treated by orthotic insole, and only as a last resort is surgery considered, which means removing the inflamed part.
